Why does an orange ‘autumnal’ eye shadow make me look like I’ve been punched in the eye?

Why does an orange ‘autumnal’ eye shadow make me look like I’ve been punched in the eye?

Switching up the light pink lipsticks and the nude eyeshadow for an autumnal-hue-eye look is OH SO appealing right now,  a step into a different season with a little change in the wardrobe so why not a little re-evaluation on the make up side?

Problem is, the on trend orange/ dark brown/ dark pink eye looks amazing on everyone else, I mean Zoella is the queen of this look and Scarlett Johansson rocks it effortlessly but on me it looks like I have either been a victim of a punch or kept up all night resulting in a red sore eyes?

I know at least in Scarlett’s case a make up artist has spent ages seamlessly blending, layering and using expert techniques to get this look just right but for me, I think it proves that I should stick to what I know, a flick of liner, a fresh complexion and when I remember a slick of lippie but that doesn’t mean I cant Pinterest my favourite autumn make up looks in the hope that one day I can master the look worthy of an Anastasia BH pallet.

I think this is just going to have to be an autumn trend I let pass, for now I will stick to my Berry lip where I feel safe, secure and have blogged previously here

Let me know if you have mastered this look, I will keep practising!
