I love this time of year, already my mind is speeding towards hot chocolates, cosy blankets, crispy leaves underfoot and evenings watching Strictly full from a delish Sunday roast! Of course last September I dedicated a post here

Autumn fashion is something I love and if you read my blog this time last year then you’ll know coats are something I became obsessed with! My aim is to build a collection full of loads of gorgeous colours and styles, I did make a good dent last year as you can see in this post but its only just gotten started and I’ve had to ditch the cheap, unflattering ones in favour of more quality!

Whistles (of course) is a brand who does classics well and their camel Alexandra coat is just one of those pieces that will look amazing time after time; with a price point of £285 it sure is an investment piece! For the more reasonably priced options Mango has a massive selection online right now, massive variety of colour and style!

Jumpers are everywhere and I for one couldn’t be more happier, the more embellishment the better in my eyes! I love a good bit pom pom or sequin on my knitwear. This Asos Multi Striped jumper priced at £25 is my favourite with the Warehouse Pom Pom £18 a close 2nd!

I am also a massive cardigan fan, they are so easy to layer on when you don’t know what the weathers going to be like and I mean that’s us all living in Britain so they quickly become our best friends! This colour blocking beauty from Pretty Little Things at £30 looks great thrown over a tee and jean combo!

Slightly off season although as above who can tell how warm the weather in Britain will be? These Tees from EgaliTEE will still carry us through the next season whilst spreading empowerment! Slip under a jacket or blazer and you are good to go..my fav is The Pips but I could snap a load up if the bank would allow!

If I’m feeling like I’ve worn jeans too much and need a mix it up then my go-to autumn dress is this Matalan Denim shirt dress, perfect teamed with tights and boots its my fav smart/casual look and at £18 Matalan knows how to look after our purse for sure!

Boots… I don’t think I’ve met anyone who doesn’t love a good boot! My preference is 100% the ankle and I believe everyone should have a brown and a black option to hand! Chelsea will always remain my fav style of boot but I do love these Faith Betsy Biker boots at £65.

There’s a million other pieces I want but that will have to be another post, I’d love to hear your favourites

An Outfit Post….A Wedding day in August

Today I wanted to share an outfit with you that I wore last weekend to my brother in laws special day (I apologise for the poor quality photos, time was running away!)   Now, I think there is a scale on how smart or how dressed up you should be when attending a wedding, this relates to the venue and vibe of each individual occasion and is often hinted in the style of invite you receive.

Last year 3 of my best friends got married in the space of 6 months and each wedding was so incredibly different! One was in a castle with a very smart tweed theme, one was a winter wedding with an amazing array of fur and winter charm, the third was fabulously floral with a nod to spring…que 3 very different wedding guest outfits to match and a lot of fun to go with it!

Guests have a duty to dress appropriately and follow the correct etiquette but more recently its become acceptable to put a little more ‘edge’ or personal style into your look. As a wedding planner I’ve noticed an increasing number of smart jumpsuits and ladies tailored suits making an appearance, not everyone is in a standard dress/facilitator combo! (not that there is anything wrong with this..I mean when do you normally get to don the feathered hair piece!) but its coll to see individual style.

When choosing my outfit for this wedding I considered a few factors…Firstly travelling – the journey to Ipswich is a good 5ish hours therefore I needed something easy to pack, Weather – being August you want lightweight, breathable fabric so you are not boiling over whilst the vows are being read! Mum factor- It needs to be comfortable enough to run around after a toddling baby and lastly, Theme- The ceremony was in a church with reception in a cute village hall complete with garden flowers and bunting, therefore it had a relaxed twist…the top hat and tails needn’t be dusted off!

The wedding was arranged in 6 weeks and due to being back at work and the thought of juggling town with a baby in tow, I opted to raid my wardrobe and wear something I already had.

I love this pale blue New Look wrap skirt, it  was comfortable and can be easily dressed down with a tee. Dorothy Perkins White Cami top, I have a million cami’s and they never let me down!

Nude New Look bag and the floral shoes from Dorothy Perkins both purchased in previous sales and our well loved in my wardrobe!

I don’t wear loads of jewellery but I love these Accessorize earrings for a bit of glitz and I obviously had to wear my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Miranda May!
