When the girls suggested we book an afternoon tea, all of us jumped at the chance! An afternoon catching up with my besties whilst surrounded by cake what’s not to love??!
Filing through the million potential venues in my head….(we live in Devon nearly everywhere offers Devonshire cream tea PLUS it was nation cream tea day only Friday!)….suddenly it struck me, why not book a table where I work?
I am very lucky to work in the beautiful setting of Exeter Golf and Country Club and being the Events Manager means
I walk into the main kitchen every day to liaise with the chefs, bypassing the array of perfect patisseries, lovingly made scones and cakes that my team would snap your arm off for just one bite!
I’ve seen the chefs passionate about what leaves the kitchen and I work with the friendly staff that will look after us so well! Therefore, why not book a table at a place I have no doubt will really spoil us?!
Sat at a window table with views overlooking the putting green and 18th tee, we all ordered a full afternoon tea. After only a short wait we were presented with tiered stands full of delicate sandwiches, homemade scones and my favourite tier of all… mini cake carrots, springy Victoria sponge, jellies, cute cheesecake and the gooiest most amazing brownie you will ever try!
Many top ups of tea later, after lashings of cream and all chatted out, we were full to the brim with deliciousness and ready to roll home
I’m so lucky to work in such a picturesque place which serves fantastic food and I’m so glad I decided to share it with my favourite girls! Laura also has a blog which has some great ideas of other places to visit and clever crafts she makes! check it out here x
